Information: J. O. Murray, 78, died at his home in Ripley, Sunday, following an illness of six months.  He was born May 19, 1884 in Jackson county, son of Joseph Murray and Margaret Ullman Murray.  On Jan. 20, 1950 he married Elah Landford.  Mr. Murray was a retired farmer and a member of Ripley Lodge IOOF No. 30 and the Pine Grove Baptist Church.  Survivors include his widow; a son, Charles Hydeon Murray of Cottageville; three daughters, Mrs. Irene Gilkinson and Mrs. Lenora VanFossen, both of East Liverpool, O., and Mrs. Roberta Cunningham of Ripley; two brothers, Albert Murray of Akron, O., and T. B. Murray of Sandyville; three sisters, Mrs. Joanna Parsons of East Liverpool, O., Mrs. Della Hutchinson of Sandyville and Mrs. Lizzie Cook of Zanesville, O.; 20 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren.  Funeral services will be held Wednesday at 2 p.m. at the Parsons funeral home, Ripley, with the Rev. Vairl Winters and the Rev. J. B. Gumm officiating.  Burial will be in Meadowville cemetery, near Sandyville, with Ripley Lodge IOOF No. 30 holding graveside services.  Friends may call at the funeral home.
