Information: Fanny McLaughlin Murray, 90, of Sandyville, died June 15, 1988, at her home following an extended illness. She was born in Jackson County, a daughter of the late George and Louise Benson McLaughlin. She was a member of the Sandyville United Methodist Church and was a past matron of Eastern Star, R. Douglas Chapter 15. She was a charter member of the VFW 3488, a member of the White Shrine, Parkersburg, a charter member of the Sandyville Extension Homemakers, the Women' s Association of the United Methodist Church and was retired postmaster of Sandyville. She is survived by one daughter, Virginia Lane of Whispering Pines, N.C.; one son, Ronald Clair Murray of Sandyville; one brother, Otis McLaughlin of Ravenswood; four grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Thomas Murray, in 1964; one brother, three sisters and two grandsons. Service was Saturday at the United Methodist Church, Sandyville, with the Rev. Melvin Conley officiating. Burial was in Independence Cemetery, Sandyville. Straight-Tucker Funeral Home, Ravenswood, was in charge of arrangements.
