Information: MASON FARMER TAKEN IN OHIO - Jesse V. Morrison, 83 year old retired farmer of the Big Spruce area, died Friday at the home of a daughter, Mrs. Flossie Stover in Glenford, Ohio. Mr. Morrison was spending the winter at the daughter's home. He was born February 5, 1887 at Rockcastle, West Virginia, the son of Wesley A. and Melinda Barr Morrison and died January 30, 1970, age eighty two years and eleven months. He was a lifelong farmer and carpenter until retirement in recent years. He was a member of Rockcastle United Brethren Church and was converted at an early age at this church. Among his chief interests were family, church and community. He was united in marriage to Viola Cain and to this union were born the following children: Goldie Barnett, Rockcastle, Flossie Stover, Glenford, Ohio, Velma Barr, Glenford, Ohio, Aulene Parsons, Ripley; one infant daughter preceded him in death. His first wife died January 10, 1923. He later married Dorma Holland Ballard and to this union were born the following children: Macil Rowley, Dunbar, Wesley of Dunbar. He is also survived by a stepson, Ralph Ballard, Long Bottom, Ohio. He is survived by twenty-two grandchildren and twenty-nine great-grandchildren. One brother survives, Bert Morrison of Rockcastle. Two brothers and one sister preceded him in death. Funeral services were held Monday, February 2, at Parsons Funeral Home in Ripley, with Reverend Armor Sayre officiating. Burial services were held at Big Spruce cemetery in Mason County.
