Information: D. U. Morris was born in Jackson county seventy odd years ago.  He lived the greater part of his life in and around the vicinity of Ripley, later purchasing a farm near Bidwell, Ohio.  He moved his family and has since resided there until his death on April 16, 1940.  In early life he married Leah Jones and to this union was born two sons and a daughter, Clyde Morris of Bidwell, Ohio, Doctor Gay Casto of Beckley and Mrs. Olna Kinkaid, of Oak Hill, W. Va.  His wife died and he later married Eliza Cottrell.  To this union was born three sons and two daughters:  C. L. Morris and Cloyd Morris, of Bidwell, Ohio............of Columbus, Ohio, Mrs. Sylvia Cromartie, of Atlanta, Georgia and Mrs. Floda Swick of Vinton, Ohio, all of whom survive.   [Betty Kessel McIntyre obit collection]
