Information: MORRIS RITES ON THURSDAY - B. F. Morris, 84-year-old resident of Staats Mills, died late Tuesday evening at the home of his daughter, Mrs. Edna Bailey of Ripley. He had been ill about three weeks. Mr. Morris, a well known farmer, was a native of Washington district in this county and spent his entire life there. He had served as a deputy assessor in Jackson county and also served his district as a member of the Board of Education. He was a member of the Zion Methodist church, the Independent Order of Odd Fellows and Junior Order of American Mechanics. Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Janney Morris; two sons, Carl Morris of Ravenswood, and Foster Morris of Staats Mills; four daughters, Mrs. Edna Bailey of Ripley, at whose home he died, Mrs. Lelia Thomas of Seth, W. Va., Mrs. Velma Randolph of Ripley, and Mrs. Urada Munday of Parkersburg; 18 grandchildren; 24 great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren. Funeral services were conducted Thursday at 1:30 p.m. from Parsons funeral home with the Rev. D. C. Guthrie officiating, assisted by the Rev. Mr. Wyatt. Interment will be in the Zion cemetery at Gay.
