Information: GOLDTOWN NATIVE IS DEAD FOLLOWING OHIO SHOOT-OUT - A native of Goldtown was shot to death Monday, November 25, at a tavern in Dayton, Ohio, after he had pulled a gun and fatally shot another man, Dayton detectives said. Oshel Patrick Miller, 27, of Dayton, formerly of Goldtown, shot to death William Sallee, 25, of Dayton, and then a friend of Sallee's shot Miller twice in the chest, killing the West Virginia native, Dayton Det. Sgt. Jess Kline said. Sgt. Kline said the incident occurred at about 11 p.m. An unidentified bystander was wounded during the shootout, Sgt. Kline said. The man who shot Miller is free pending further investigation, Sgt. Kline said. Sgt. Kline said ""bad feelings"" existed between Miller and Sallee from an altercation in which they had been involved several months ago. Kline said Miller was killed by two slugs from a .44 magnum pistol. Surviving: wife, Billie; daughter, Nancy of Dayton; sons, Oshel Jr. of Dayton, Ronnie of Tucson, Ariz.; parents, Mr. and Mrs. Oshel F. Miller of Dayton, Ohio, formerly of Goldtown; sister, Miss Dorothy Miller of Dayton; brother, Alfred C. Miller, of Dayton. Service was held Friday at Long and Fisher Funeral Home, Pocatalico, with the Rev. Elza Moss officiating. Burial was in the Miller Cemetery, Sissonville.
