Information: Rev. Jackie Lee Miller, 76, of Goldtown, passed away April 1, 2003, at home. He was retired from Union Carbide Corporation, South Charleston, with 43 years of service. He began his ministry at Fisher Memorial Church, where he taught Sunday School and directed the choir for 30 years, and also did evangelistic work. He was the former assistant pastor at the Charleston Mountain Mission, where he taught the J. E. ""Bud"" Legg Bible Class and was heard daily on the morning radio broadcast. He was a 1944 graduate of Stonewall Jackson High School, and was a World War II Navy veteran. He was preceded in death by his parents, Delbert and Bernice Miller; brothers, Rocky and Page Miller; and a nephew, Joe Ray. Surviving are his wife, Wanda Garnes Miller; son, Jack Parson of Knoxville, TN; sister, Virginia Ann Ray of Laurinburg, NC. Services were held at 1 p.m.on Friday, April 4, 2003 at Fisher Memorial Church, Dudden Road, Goldtown with the Rev. Paul Arthur and the Rev. Al Mendez officiating. Burial took place in the Floral Hills Garden of Memories, Pocatalico. Cunningham-Parker-Johnson Funeral Home, Charleston was in charge of arrangements.
