Information: Peter Milhoan, one of the oldest and most respected citizens of Grant District died Saturday, June 23.  His death was due to cancer and with ailments accompanying advanced age.  He was born in Belmont county, Ohio, March 14, 1830, and came to Jackson county in early boyhood.  In 1855 he untied in marriage with Miss Margaret Hoselton and to this union were born eleven children, of which seven, Mrs. W. A. Deem, Mrs.William Polk, Arthur and Thomas of Murraysville; Mrs. George Flinn of Ravenswood, and Mrs. Marian Morgan and Charles Milhoan of Missouri, survive.  His first wife having died in 1898 he again united in marriage with Miss Martha B. Ward in 1901, and to this union five children were born, four of whom, Hod, Clyde, Dale and Homer are living.  Besides his wife and children the deceased is survived by one brother, Lemuel Milhoan, of Murraysville and a sister, Mrs. Minerva Dewitt of Missouri, besides a host of other relatives.  The funeral services were held at the Christian church at Milhoan Ridge, Sunday, at 3 p.m. and interment was made in the Milhoan Ridge cemetery.   (from the Ada Ruth Sayre Obituary Collection)
