Information: Ethel Boggess Milam, 73, of Middleport, Ohio, the mother of Virginia Edith Derrick of Ravenswood, died Saturday evening at Holzer Medical Center, Gallipolis, Ohio. She was born in Jackson County on July 13, 1909, the daughter of the late Story and Virgie Thomas Boggess. She was employed several years at Meigs General Hospital in Pomeroy, Ohio, as a cook. Survivors: daughter, Louise Johnson, Middleport, Ohio; sons, Delbert ""Jim"" Milam of Xenia, Ohio, and Henry Milam of Cheshire, Ohio; brothers, Ralph Boggess of Dunbar, Thad Boggess, Thurman Boggess, and Denver Boggess, all of Charleston; sisters, Lakie Pfost of Newport Richey, Fla., and Thelma Boggess of Dunbar; 12 grandchildren, two great-grandsons, and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, Delbert A. Milam, in 1981, and by one grandson and four brothers. Services were held Tuesday at the Rawlings-Coats-Blower Funeral Home, Middleport, Ohio, with the Rev. Harold Runyan officiating. Burial was in the Story Boggess Cemetery at Goldtown, West Virginia.
