Information: A Ripley woman was killed Friday morning following a two-car accident on U. S. Rt. 50 near Cool Springs in Preston County.  Zofia Mendenhall, 36, died when the car she was driving crossed the center line about 9 a.m. Friday near Cool Springs and struck a car driven by Helen Loughrie, 44, of Tunnelton, according to the Preston County Sheriff's Department.  Mrs. Loughrie was admitted to Preston Memorial Hospital in good condition and her husband, Walter, was treated and released at the facility.  Ms. Mendenhall was a native of Poland, having immigrated to the United States and Ripley area about one year ago.  She was an employee of Care Inn in Ripley and attended the Ripley Church of Christ.  Survivors include one daughter, Susan Danette, stationed with the U. S. Air Force in San Antonio, Texas and an aunt and uncle in McConnellsburg, Ohio.  Services were yesterday, Tuesday, in McConnellsburg.  Huck's Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
