Information: Barbara Lea McPherson, 78, of Raenswood WV, died peacefully at her home on March 10, 2015, after a long struggle with cancer. She was born on May 2, 1936 in Spencer WV, daughter of the late Carris Scott and Ruby Pearl (Riddle) Godfrey. Barbara attended Pakersburg High School. She married the late Richard Carl McPherson on December 31, 1960. Barbara was a woman of the Christian faith who loved the Lord and his creatures. She knew no strangers, two or four-legged. As a young adult, she taught herself to play guitar and was fascinated by Egyptology and Native American customs. Music brought her joy throughout her life, whether it was the rock n' roll of her youth or the religious music of her later years. ""Bob"" (as she was known by her family) enjoyed fishing and camping with her family, crocheting, sewing, and cooking. Surviving are four children, Terry Scott Duelley and wife Ruth, Lucasvlle OH, Tammy Linn McPherson, Morgantown WV, Matthew Lee McPherson, Ravenswood WV, and Todd Michael McPherson and wife Shannon, Cottageville WV; seven grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; brother, Larry Wayne Godfrey; and daughter-in-law, Sandra Jean (Brent) McPherson. In additon to her parents, and husband of 50 years, Richard, she was preceded in death by her son, Brent Craig McPherson; brother, Carris D. Godfrey; and sister, Patty Jo Godfrey. Funeral service will be at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday at Roush Funeral Home, Ravenswood with Reverend Jarrod Caltrider officiating. Burial will follow at Ravenswood Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home Monday from 5:00 to 8:00 pm and Tuesday 10:00 to 11:00 a.m. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in memory of Barbara L.
