  <p>Information: Marcus Carlyle McPhail Sr., 73, of Wilmington, NC, died Wednesday, Dec. 26, 1990, in New Hanover Memorial Hospital following a lengthy illness.  The father of Marcus McPhail, Jr. of Ravenswood, he was born Feb. 5, 1917, in Samson County, NC, son of the late Marcheston and Abbie Jane Matthews McPhail.  He was a member of the Presbyterian Church and a veteran of World War II.  He retired from Kaiser Aluminum in 1979.  In addition to his son, he is survived by his wife, Rachel Jean Beasley McPhail; daughters, Ann Yeager of Las Vegas, NV, Rita Bockert and Linda Rhodes, both of Wilmington; a brother; three sisters; nine grandchildren, including Matt McPhail of Grantsville; five great-grandchildren.  Funeral services were held Saturday, Dec. 29, 1990, at Coble-Ward-Smith Funeral Service Chapel with Rev. Tom Bovender officiating.  Interment was in Greenlawn Memorial Park Cemetery.</p>
