Information: William Henry McKay was born March 14th, 1835, of Elizabeth Hayme and William McKay, and was fourth in a family of eight.  Two brothers, Zachariah Taylor and Reuben Spencer, and one sister, Adeline Sayre, have preceded him to the grave.  Two sisters, Sin Blake and Flora Hogsette, with two half brothers, John and Charles, remain of this family.  He was born at Saxon, Meigs county, Ohio, but early in his childhood he, with his parents, came to Warth's Bottom, Jackson county, where he resided until the time of his death, July 17, 1918, at a quarter before nine o'clock in the morning.  When he was six years old he was left motherless and in 1882 his father died.  On the 16th of November, 1882, he was united in marriage with Clara Hastings of Kentucky.  To this union was born one child, Mrs. Ernest C. Lawson, who with the widow and one grandchild, Ernest C. Lawson, Jr. survives him.
