Obituary Date: 1923-07-13

Information: Amanda M. Hamilton was born in Noble County, Ohio, November 14, 1847 and passed into the great beyond from whence no traveler ever returns, June 28, 1923, aged 75 years, 7 months and 14 days.  She was united in marriage to W. H. Beymer on October 28, 1866.  She was converted and joined the Methodist Episcopal Church at Lockhart in 1890 and was a faithful and active member throughout her long and useful life, until the Master said "" well done, thou has been faithful over many things, enter thou into the joy of thy Lord"".  She leaves behind her aged husband, W. H. Beymer, who has traveled through the toils and cares of life with her and now stands on the bank of the river waiting for the boatman to row him over.  There remains three sisters and two brothers who will miss her, but they will soon follow as they are fast descending the western slope.  Sister Beymer was the mother of nine children living:  Mollie Black, Anna Curry, W. O. Beymer, A. L. Beymer and J. G. Beymer, of Sandyville, W. R. Beymer of Wellsville, Ohio and Homer Beymer of Ripley.  Three children preceded her in infancy, also Harry E. Beymer of New Brighton, who passed on before her on June 26, 1920.  She has forty-four grandchildren and six great-grandchildren and a host of friends who remain and will remember her example as a loving mother and a faithful follower of the Christ she loved to serve.  (from the Betty Kessel McIntyre collection)
