  <p>Information:             Funeral services were conducted Friday afternoon from the Fairview Methodist Church for Benjamin Allen, 83, of Leroy, who died in a Parkersburg hospital on Tuesday.  The Rev. E. S. Warren of the Liverpool Baptist (Fairview) Church officiated and the burial was in the church cemetery.  Mr. Allen was born April 3, 1866 at Penike, West Virginia and died April 19, 1949 at the Camden-Clarke Hospital in Parkersburg, WV.  He was the son of the late William and Sarah .  He was united in marriage to Letha Alice Shaffer.  Survivors include two sons, Rollie Allen of Ravenswood and Arl Allen of Columbus, Ohio; six grandchildren, Aubrey Walter of Leroy, Clara Allen of Reedy, Harold Allen of St. Albans, Arl Allen Jr. and Miss Alice Allen, both of Columbus, and Mrs. Lucy McVey of Palestine, and six great-grandchildren.  His wife and two children, Hollie and Nannie, and two grandsons, Harry Delmer Allen and Bobby Patrick Allen, preceded him in death.  (Betty Kessel McIntyre obit collection)</p>
