Information: Lester McIntyre was born January 25, 1893, and died at the home near Angerona, W. Va., November 19, 1918, aged 25 years, 9 months and 24 days, leaving father, mother, six brothers and two sisters to mourn their loss. Lester was always a brave, manly boy, kind and free-hearted to any in distress. Five years he spent mostly in railroading and oil field work. On coming home from Charleston for a few days stay, had planned to go to Tulsa, Oklahoma to operate for oil in that field, but finding his brother and family very sick, went to their aid with all his power, and through is kindness in way of hard toiling for six days and nights without sleep or rest became so tired and wearied he had to lie down. In the prime of life when opportunities were most favorable to him, he was called away. He had not passed on life's journey the stone that marks the hightest point, yet at an unexpected time he had to lie down by the wayside. He has walked the last time in quiet places with the maiden he adored. We heard whisperings and sweet vows of eternal love as they lingeringly part forever. He added to the sum of human joy, and were everyone for whom he did some loving service to bring a blossom to his grave, and now his body sleeps beneath the wreaths and flowers. Oh! how sad is the home where bereavement has come, and how hard it is to do the common duties of life where the relish has gone. No darkness ever seemed so dark. Never did the moans of the wind sound so sad through the big pine tree in the yard as now. But every means by kind hands was tried to save him, and the best of medical skill was in attendance. Dr. T. E. Rymer was a faithful worker. Miss Eltha Slaughter of Cottageville was a careful nurse, and Mr. S. P. Lemon, of Charleston, as helper, all showed their zeal and courage by toiling to the last. His body was laid away carefully in the home cemetery on Friday at 3 p.m. to await the resurrection of the body from it's slumber. The funeral was conducted by Evangelist J. C. Perry, of Ohio, at Christian Chapel. ""Our son and brother, We miss him, it is true, But we hope to meet agsin, Far up in heaven's blue."" Parents and children.
