Information: Funeral services for Charles Wilbur McGraw were held at the Vail funeral home on Saturday, July 18, with Rev. Vairl Winter officiating and the burial was in the Fairplain cemetery.  He was born at Ripley on September 30, 1913 and departed this life July 14, 1964.  He was a son of the late Charles H. and Mary Fields McGraw.  He attended Ripley schools and was active in sports during his school years.  He was called into the service of his country during the early part of World War II and served two years and eight months in the Asiatic-Pacific theatre.  He was awarded the Good Conduct medal, the American Theatre Ribbon, the World War II Victory medal, the Asiatic-Pacific theatre ribbon with one bronze star.  He was discharged from the service at the close of the war and went to Columbus where he lived for several years.  He had been in failing health for several years and on several occasions had been a patient in Veterans hospitals.  He leaves to mourn their loss, a son, two grandchildren, five brothers, five sisters, and a host of friends.
