Information: Mary C. Cook, daughter of T. H. and M. E. Cook, was born on Mud Run in Jackson county, Dec. 7, 1867 and died at her home in Parkersburg, Sept. 13, 1940, age 72 years, 9 months and 6 days.  She was united in marriage to Robert P. Ward, Aug. 20, 1885 and to this union seven children were born, five boys and two girls:  Mr. Lucy Richard of Silverton, Mrs. Ollie Carver of Parkersburg, Henry, Ora L., Harley, Clyde, and William Ward, all of Parkersburg; eleven grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren.  She united with the Church of Christ at Mud Run and was baptized Dec. 5, 1883 by Finley Oaks.  She is also survived by two brothers and five sisters:  Mrs. Ida Kibble and Charley Cook, of Sandyville, Mrs. Minnie Kibble of West Plain, Missouri, Mrs. Eliza Staats of Sherman, Mrs. Nettie Benson of Ravenswood, Thomas E. Cook of Fairmont, and Mrs. Nelllie McGrew of Manchester, Maryland.  She was again united in marriage in Dec. 1926 to William McFarland, who preceded her in death five years ago in September.   [from the Betty Kessel McIntyre obit collection]
