  <p>Information: COTTAGEVILLE - Daniel O. McDermott, 92, of Cottageville, WV, departed this life March 31, 2000.  He was born August 27, 1907, at Mount Alto, WV, a son of the late George Washington and Cora Anna (Durst) McDermott.  He was a WW II Navy Veteran.  He owned and operated McDermott&#39;s General Store and Dan&#39;s Barber Shop in Cottageville.  He was a 50-year member of the Cottageville Lodge #54 AF & AM and he was a member of the Cottageville E.U.B. Church.  Surviving are his daughter and son-in-law, Joyce Ann and Dr. James C. McCoy of Ravenswood; grandchildren, Jeffrey Dean and his wife Stephanie McCoy of Evans, Patrick Daniel McCoy of Ravenswood and Erin Paige Coleman of Millwood; great-grandchildren, Jeffery Daniel, James Caleb and Annie Paige.  He was also preceded in death by his wife, Lucille Dean McDermott; brothers, J. J. ""Mick"" McDermott, Glen McDermott and Park McDermott.  Service was held Monday, April 3, 2000, at the Cottageville United Methodist Church with the Rev. Gerald B. Sayre officiating.  Burial will follow at Jackson County Memory Gardens with military honors by the Jackson County American Legion and VFW posts.  Arrangements by Casto Funeral Home, Evans, WV.</p>
