  <p>Information: Former Mayor Thomas H. McCracken died at his home in Ripley Saturday afternoon.  He had been in very poor health for some time and for several days prior to his death his condition had been critical and death had been expected.  Mr. McCracken was Mayor of Ripley for three terms and prior to coming to Ripley seventeen years ago from Gay, he had served as a justice of the peace both in Washington district of this county and in Roane county.  The funeral services were held at the Fairview church near Fairplain Monday afternoon at 2 o&#39;clock with the Rev. Carl Paxton in charge and burial was in the church cemetery.  The deceased is survived by a foster daughter, Mrs. James Rader, of Parkersburg.  His wife died several years ago.
