Information: COTTAGEVILLE MAN SUCCUMBS TO ILLNESS,AGED RESIDENT DIES THURSDAY, FORMER DRAFT BOARD MEMBER DIES AFTER LONG ILLNESS - Charles F. McCoy, one of Jackson sounty's outstanding farmers, citizens, and business men, died at his home in Cottageville last Thursday afternoon following an illness of more than six years duration and during the time he had been confined to his bed for about fourteen months.  He would have been 86 years old on the last day of this month.  He was widely known in the county and during the World War period, he was a member of the Selective Service Board for Jackson county, which was more commonly referred to as the draft board. Of the members of that board, only one, Dr. T. E. Rymer, of Ripley, still survives.  The funeral services were held from the home in Cottageville Sunday afternoon with Rev. W. I. Fiber of the Cottageville Methodist church in charge and burial was in the Cottageville cemetery.  He is survived by the widow and the following children, Mrs. B. F. Thompson of Huntington, Mrs. H. D. Thompson of Huntington, Mrs. B. C. Emerson of Huntington, Andon McCoy of California, Minnie McCoy of Cottageville, Mrs. W. K. Rector and Ralston McCoy, both of Ravenswood.  Throughout his lifetime he was known as one of the best farmers of Union district and the McCoy farm which he operated is one of the best in the Mill Creek valley. While a topranking citizen of the county always, he never sought public office being content to devote his time and talents to a business career.
