Information: Ray S. McCloud, 71, of Vienna, died Saturday evening, July 7, 1990, at Camden-Clark Memorial Hospital following an extended illness. He was born in Fairplain, a son of the late Orville and Addie DeWeese McCloud. He was a 1938 graduate of Ripley High School, served with the 57th and 68th Naval Construction Battalions in the South Pacific during World War II, was retired from Union Carbide Metals Corp. after 32 years of service as a heavy equipment operator. He was a member of St. John's United Methodist Church in Vienna, where he had served in many official capacities, and was a member of the Fraternal Order of Woodmen of the World. He is survived by his wife of 40 years, Dortha Kathleen Brannon McCloud; one daughter, Janet Lee McCloud Flanagan of Moundsville; a son-in-law, the Rev. Randall F. Flanagan; and a granddaughter, Kathryn Renee Flanagan; one brother, Ira V. McCloud of Ripley; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by one brother and three sisters. Services will be at 2 p.m. today (Wednesday) at the St. John's United Methodist Church with the Rev. Roy D. Knight officiating. Burial will be in the Sunset Memory Gardens. Vaughan Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
