  <p>Information: Ethel Burnem McAlister, 77, of Sissonville, died Dec. 19, 1987, in CAMC Memorial Division after a long illness. She was retired from the Townhouse Restaurant as a cook.  She is survived by her husband, John F. McAlister of Sissonville; three sons, George Burnem of Sandyville, Raymond Burnem of Ravenswood, Richard Burnem of Sissonville; two stepsons, John E. McAlister of Pittsburgh and R. G. McAlister of Indianapolis; one daughter, Edna Estep of Sissonville; two brothers, Ernest Ashby of Sandyville, Virgil Ashby of Charleston; one sister, Ruth Osman of Charleston; 23 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren.  Services were held Tuesday at Parsons Funeral Home, Ripley, with the Rev. Orville Walker officiating.  Burial was in Fairplain Cemetery.</p>
