  <p>Information: RIPLEY - Roy Wayne Matheny, 73, of Ripley, died Aug. 25, 1996, at Jackson General Hospital, Ripley.  He was born in Frozen Camp, W. Va., a son of the late M. C. and Leola Waybright Matheny.  He was a graduate of Ripley High School and Lafayette University and was a U. S. Navy veteran of World War II.  He was a retired electrician from Kaiser Aluminum and was a former Ripley building inspector.  He was past secretary/treasurer of Vanadium Steel Labor Union and was a member of the Methodist Mens Association and Mount Zion Methodist Church.  Surviving are his wife of 51 years, Emma Lou Knopp Matheny; two sons, Richard Matheny and Roderick Matheny, both of Ripley; two brothers, Denver C. Matheny of Ripley and Donald Matheny of Medina, W. Va.; three sisters, Catherine Winter of Fairplain, Freda Parsons of Columbus and Virginia ""Ginny"" Durst of Mount Alto; four grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.  He was preceded in death by one brother, Merrill Matheny, Jr.; and one son, Michael Grant Matheny.  Services 2 p.m Wednesday, Vail Funeral Home, Ripley, the Rev. Arnold Conat officiating.  Burial, Mount Zion Cemetery.</p>
