Information: Mrs. Lulu Burke Matheny, 80, died Monday afternoon in the Camden-Clark Memorial Hospital following an extended illness. She was a Sandyville resident. Born in Braxton County, a daughter of the late William and Esther Hamilton Wilson, she was a member of the Lockhart Methodist Church. Survivors include three sons, Wallace Burke and Delmer Burke, both of Parkersburg and Doyle Burke of Ravenswood; three daughters, Mrs. Nolia Wilson, Coolville, Ohio, Mrs. Evelyn Hardesty, Sandyville and Mrs. Lois LaRue, Parkersburg; two brothers, Ola Wilson, Coolville and Guy C. Wilson, Washington, D. C.; one sister, Mrs. Alfonzia Lockhart, Belpre; six grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her first husband, Walter R. Burke in 1929 and her second husband, Charles Matheny in 1965. Preceding her in death were four brothers, Clark, Thomas, Charles and Mont Wilson. The funeral service was held Friday in the Lockhart Methodist Church with burial following in the Independence Cemetery.
