  <p>Information: Funeral services were held Monday at Mt. Zion United Methodist Church for Harrison Matheny, 83 of Rt. 1, Spencer who died Friday in Jackson General Hospital, Ripley following a long illness.  The Rev. Orland Reynolds officiated and burial was in Mt. Zion Cemetery.  Born in Gilmer County, he was a son of the late Charles and Ellen Stutler Matheny.  He was a retired employee of Columbia Gas Company and a member of Mt. Zion Methodist Church of Gay, Rt. 1.  Survivors include his wife, Girtha; three daughters, Evelyn Walters of Vienna, Janice Stephens and Frances Guthrie of Ripley; six sons, Laco and Donald of Ripley, Darrell of Evans, Dale of Fullerton, Calif., Delmer and Denver Joe of Spencer; two sisters, Sarah Caldwell of Spencer and Flora Tanner of Frenchton; 27 grandchildren and 19 great-grandchildren.  Sinnett Funeral Home, Spencer was in charge of arrangements.</p>
