Information: FORMER JACKSON COUNTY RESIDENT CLAIMED The choir director of Blennerhassett Junior High School, Jackie Bruce Manning, and his roommate, Robert Day, were killed in a fiery one-car crash early Saturday, Jan. 7, 1989, on Fairview Avenue, Parkersburg. Manning,33, apparently lost control of his 1987 Pontiac Fiero just south of Parkersburg Catholic High School.  The car clipped a utility pole, spun around and hit a tree, bursting into flames, police said.  Electricity was out in the surrounding neighborhood for several hours. The accident occured at about 2:30 a.m.  By the time officers arrived at the scene, the car was engulfed in flames, said Detective G. A. Waybright. Day, 35, lived with Manning at 5110A Emerson Ave., Parkersburg. Waybright said police were trying to determine what caused the car to veer out of control.  An autopsy at the state medical examiner's office in South Charleston revealed that neither man had been drinking, he said. There was at least one other vehicle in the vicinity of the crash, he said, and officers were hoping to locate a white Chevy Blazer 4x4 with a red stripe down the side to see if the driver can add any information about the crash. Manning also taught English at Blennerhassett Junior High. Manning was born in Beckley, a son of Kenneth and Sally Adams Manning.  He was a member of the Belpre Congregational Church where he was choir director.  He was a member of the Moose Lodge, a graduate of Ravenswood High School and Glenville State College.  He also attended West Virginia University, where he earned his master's degree. Besides his parents, he is survived by a brother, Barry Manning of Wichita Falls, Texas; a nephew, Craig, and a niece, Kelly. Services were Tuesday at the North United Methodist Church, Ravenswood, with the Rev. Donald Pringle and the Rev. Jean O'Brien officiating.  Burial was in the Ravenswood Cemetery.  Straight-Tucker Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
