  <p>Information: John Edgar Mahan, 66, of Route 1, Ravenswood, was dead on arrival Monday night at Jackson General Hospital following a short illness.  He was a farmer and a West Virginia Department of Highways employee and a Methodist.  Surviving:  wife, Frances Marie Workman Mahan; daughters, Mary Allen of Cottageville, Violet Pence of Ravenswood; son, Curtis of Ravenswood; sister, Mary Shollenberger of Huntsville, Ala.; brother, Charles of Millwood; 12 grandchildren.  Service will be Thursday at 2 p.m. at Casto Funeral Home, Evans, with the Rev. Gerald Sayre officiating.  Burial will be at Flatwoods Cemetery, Ravenswood.  Friends may call after 2 p.m. today (Wednesday) at the funeral home.</p>
