Information: Frank Lester Abels, 93, of Parkersburg, formerly of Ravenswood, died Saturday in Care Inn in Ripley, following an extended illness.  He was born in Ravenswood, a son of the late Arthur and Mary Anderson Abels.  He was a retired farmer and an Army veteran of World War I.  He was a member of the Wilding United Methodist Church, VFW of Ravenswood, IOOF of Ravenswood, and the Silverton Grange.  He is survived by his wife, Jessie Stanley Abels of Parkersburg; two daughters, Elsie McCullough of Parkersburg, and Frankie Potts of Meritt Island, Fla.; five sons, Richard Abels of Long Bottom, O., Charles Abels of Azusa, Calif., John Abels of New Castle, Pa., Ray Abels of Ravenswood, and Robert Abels of Wampun, Pa.; 31 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren.  He was preceded in death by his first wife, Lora Abels, in 1974, one daughter, one son, one sister, and three brothers.  Services were held Monday at the Straight-Tucker Funeral Home with the Rev. Paul Morrison officiating.  Burial was in Ravenswood Cemetery.
