Information: Funeral services were held at the Vail Funeral Home for C.D. Mahan, 84 year old former Ripley citizen, who died in the Spencer Clinic following a long illness. Rev. A.C. Riffe of the Methodist Church conducted the service and the body was taken to the Flatwoods Cemetery for burial. Mr. Mahan was a son of R.G. and Lucinda Wise Mahan, was born November 26, 1863 and departed this life June 4, 1948. His wife, Cora Frances and one son, Adrian, preceded him in death. Surviving are six daughters and one son, Mrs. Elizabeth Stanicy of Parkersburg, Mrs. Eunice King of Cottageville, Mrs. Lucy Ellis of St. Albans, Mrs. Brady Westfall of Spring Creek, Mrs. Georgia Lowther of Wildcat, Mrs. Freda Crawford of Charleston and Rev. R.H. Mahan of Bristol. A sister, Mrs. Martha Hensworth of Parkersburg and 15 grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren also survive.
