Information: Marilyn Casto Ludwig, 60, of Ripley, died Feb. 8, 1994, at the Charleston Area Medical Center, Charleston. She was born in Jackson County, a daughter of the late C. Otis and Loshia Miller Casto. She was a graduate of Winfield High School and Marshall University. She was a teacher in Jackson County for 27 years before retiring. She was a member of Ripley Women's Club, South Hills Extension Club and Epworth United Methodist Church, Ripley. She was an organ donor with the Center for Organ Recovery and Education. Surviving are her husband, Delbert R. Ludwig, Jr.; two sons, Steven C. Ludwig of Santa Barbara, Calif. and Paul A. Ludwig of Dunbar; one brother, Otis D. ""Butch"" Casto of Ripley; one sister, Sara L. Casto of Orlando, FL; and one grandchild. Services were held Saturday at Epworth United Methodist Church, Ripley, with Rev. Charles Echols officiating. Burial was in Pine Hill Cemetery, Ripley. Vail Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements. Memorials preferred to the Ripley Library or Epworth United Methodist Church. Feb. 9/FORMER EDUCATOR CLAIMED - Retired Ripley High School teacher, Marilyn Ludwig, died yesterday (Tuesday) evening at Charleston Area Medical Center. She had been stricken with a cerebral hemorrhage last week and had been a patient at the hospital since Wednesday. It was her wish to be an organ donor and the family is carrying out her request. A team of surgeons from Pittsburgh had been alerted of Mrs. Ludwig's death, said her husband Delbert, and the organ donor organization handled arrangements. Because of this, final funeral arrangements had not been made last night. Mrs. Ludwig was a member of Epworth United Methodist Church. She taught home economics at Ripley High School for 28 years and retired in 1988. Survivors include her husband, Delbert; sons, Steve of California and Paul of Dunbar; one grandchild; sister, Dr. Sara Casto of Florida; brother, Otis ""Butch"" Casto of Ripley. Vail Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
