Information: Logan State Police officers continue to investigate the death of a Chapmanville man found dead of a gunshot wound at the Logan Country Club where he worked as a security guard. Malcom R. Lucas, brother of Opal Stowers of Ripley, was found Sunday and rushed to Logan General Hospital where he was pronounced dead on arrival. Although the incident remains under investigation, preliminary evidence indicates that the man died of a self-inflicted gunshot wound according to officers. Additional survivors: wife, Helen Toler Lucas; daughter, Dianna Butcher of Chapmanville; sons, Malcolm E. and Richard of Chapmanville; sisters, Helen Trawer of Harrisville, Mich., Kathleen Malecki of Solibury, Pa.; brother, Kermit of Milton, Fla.; six grandchildren. Service will be at 11 a.m. today (Wednesday) at the Evans Funeral Home, Chapmanville with the Rev. Wayne Goodman officiating. Burial will be in Forest Lawn Cemetery, Pecks Mill.
