Death Notice:

Obituary Date: 1935-09-13

Information: Mrs. G. N. Lockhart, 67 years old, died at her home near Sandyville at 4 o'clock Monday morning.  She had been ill for several months and member of the family said that Bright's disease was the immediate cause of her death. Her adopted daughter, Gertrude Anderson, died about 2 months ago and members of the family said that the death was a severe shock to Mrs. Lockhart and that she never recovered from the shock and that in their opinion this hastened her death.  She was a member of the Ravenswood Presbyterian church and was an outstanding lady of the community and her death was a shock to the family and friends even though her serious illness had been realized by all.  She is survived by (husband) G. N. Lockhart; and the following step-children, Carl B. Lockhart of Ripley, Ned E. Lockhart of Ravenswood, Mrs. Emma Hardesty of Sandyville, and Mrs. Vesta Mitchell of St. Marys.  The funeral services were held at the Ravenswood Presbyterian church on Wednesday afternoon at 2 o'clock with Rev. Gettys, pastor of the church, in charge and burial was in the Ravenswood cemetery.  [from the Betty Kessel McIntyre collection]
