Information: Anna E. Karr, eldest daughter of the late Mr. D. D. Karr and Mrs. Karr was born March 4, 1870 at Pond Creek, W. Va. and passed away at her home near Cottageville, December 23, 1938.  She was united in marriage with Owen L. Lloyd, March 3, 1898.  To his union three children were born;  Mrs. George Meredith, Phoenix, Ariz., Charles H. Lloyd of Philadelphia, Pa., and Miss Frances Wilda Lloyd of Charleston, all of whom, together with her husband, survive her.  Also surviving are her mother and the following brothers and sisters, W. M. Karr, Clendenin, C. E. Karr and Mrs. Marie Brokaw, Ravenswood and Mrs. B. F. Rader, Ripley.  Mrs. Lloyd was a well known and highly respected lady of her community.  She was a student of international and state affairs and was one of the most intelligent and best informed women of her day.  She was a valued teacher in the county for many years, having taught her first school at Murraysville, W. Va. when sixteen years of age.  She was generous and kind, denying herself many of the necessities of life in order to help those less fortunate.  Her good deeds will be ramembered by all who knew her and great will be her reward in ""The Home of the Soul""      Funeral services for Mrs. Lloyd were conducted by the Rev. Fiber, M.E. pastor of Cottageville charge, at two o'clock Christmas day.  Rev. Swain, pastor of the U.B. church made the opening prayer.  The local chori sang ""Beautiful Isle and Lead Kindly Light"".  The floral offerings were very beautiful and expressed the high esteem held for  this good woman as well as the love and sympathy for the bereft.  Pall bearers were Floyd Durst, Donald Ferguson, Austin Rand, Arthur Sayre, Lawrence Hunt and Claude Maxwell.  Burial was made in the Blaine cemetery with the undertaker, J. B. Vail, in charge.
