  <p>Information: James Andrew Liptak, 69, of Millwood WV, died Sept. 9, 1997 at CAMC Memorial Division after a short illness.  He was born in Cleveland OH to the late Andrew Liptak and Mary Sotak Liptak, surviving.  He was a graduate of Ohio State University with B. S. in Welding Engineering.  He won the James F. Lincoln gold medal for welding research from American Welding Society.  Retired from Kaiser Aluminum, veteran of W.W. II, and was a member of West Ripley Baptist Church where he served as Financial Secretary.  Surviving:  mother, Mary Sotak Liptak of Cleveland OH; sons, Roger Lipatk of Charlotte NC and James Liptak of Spokane WA; 4 grandchildren.  He was preceded in death by his wife, Dorothy Liptak.  Visitation will be Thursday, Sept. 11 from 6-9 p.m. at Vail Funeral Home, Ripley.  Service will be Friday, Sept. 12, at 1:00 p.m. at West Ripley Baptist Church with the Rev. Ed Taylor officiating. Burial will be in Jackson County Memory Gardens, Cottageville.</p>
