Information: NEW CASTLE, PA. - Benjamin W. Bennett, Sr., 91, of New Castle, PA, died Sunday, October 2, 2005 in Jameson Hospital, New Castle, PA. He was born November 6, 1913 in Millwood, a son of the late Carl and Elizabeth ""Bessie"" Roush Bennett. He was a retired crane operator with the New Castle Junk Co. with 32 years of service. He also worked as a machinist for the Johnson Bronze Co. He was a member of the Edinburg Christian Church. He enjoyed hunting and fishing and was an avid bowler. Survivors include a daughter, Arlene White of New Castle, PA; three sons, Benjamin W. Bennett, Jr. of Edinburg and Clayton D. Bennett, Sr. and Edward L. Bennett, both of New Castle, PA; two sisters, Birdie Rhodes of Parkersburg and Beulah Gilbert of West Lafayette, OH; 11 grandchildren and 19 great-grandchildren. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife of 38 years, Aretta Searfoss Bennett; six brothers, Clayton Roush, Bernard Bennett, Bernace Bennett, Burl Bennett, Boyd Bennett and Emery Bennett; five sisters, Bea Donohew, Blanche Shinn, Bridget Snyder, Ruth Bennett and Betty Wilson. Services were held at the Noga Funeral Home, New Castle, PA with Pastor David Snyder of Edinburg Christian Church officiating. Burial was at Graceland Cemetery.
