  <p>Information: Oris Ray Lathey, 84 of Evans, died Thursday, Oct. 12, 1989 at Jackson General Hospital, Ripley, following a brief illness.  He was born in Jackson County, a son of the late George W. and Cora Bell Casto Lathey.  He was a farmer and a former employee of West Virginia Department of Highways.  He attended Longview Community Church.  He is survived by two sons, Oris D. Lathey of Point Pleasant, Wendell Eugene Rowley of Dunbar; one daughter, Genevieve Carney of Evans; two brothers, Harry Lathey of Friendly and Clyde Lathey of Ripley; three sisters, Iva Parsons of Nitro, Corda Rowley of Nitro, Cleora Syer of Charleston; seven grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren.  He was preceded in death by his wife, Lucy Hayden.  Services were Sunday at Casto Funeral Home Chapel, Evans, with the Rev. Melvin Connolly and the Rev. Emmet Adkins officiating.  Burial was in the Roster Chapel Cemetery.</p>
