Information: John H. Lane, 80, of Hendersonville, NC, died Jan. 28, 1996, at Paedee Memorial Hospital, Hendersonville, NC. He was born in Ripley, a son of the late Samuel J. and Flossie Lane. He attended Wood County Schools and the University of Kentucky, Lexington, KY. He was a US Navy veteran of WW II, having served with the 141st Division of the Seebees. He retired as Physical Plant Director Emeritis of Wasington & Jefferson College in Washington, PA. He resided in NC since 1984, and was a member of Ravenswood Masonic Lodge 12 and Parkersburg Nemesis Shrine Temple and Scottish Rites. He was also a member of the North Baptist Church, Parkersbugh, WV. Surviving are his wife of 55 years, Virginia M. Lane; one daughter, Debra Lane of Greensboro, NC; one son, Donald K. Lane of Gay: one granddaughter, Taylor Brooke Lane of Gay, WV; and one sister, Carmelita Cobb of Gay. He was preceded in death by one son, Ronald H. Lane, two sisters, and two brothers. Vail Funeral Home in Ripley, WV, was in charge of arrangements with burial to follow at Independence Cemetery, Sandyville, WV.
