Information: RIPLEY- Lessie M. Landis, 94, Ripley, died Oct. 17, 1996, at Eldercare of West Virginia, in Ripley. She was born July 7, 1902, the daughter of the late Ralph D. Walker and Medora Johnson Walker. She taught school in Kanawha and Jackson Counties. She graduated from the former Morris Harvey College in Charleston and was a member of Goshen Baptist Church. Surviving are three sons, Kemp Landis of Kentuck, and Neil Landis and Richard Landis, both of Ripley; three daughters, Juanita Skeen of Mount Vernon, Ohio, Wilda Scarbrough of Kentuck and Wanda Jacks of Pataskala, Ohio; one brother, the Rev. Orville Walker of Ripley: one sister, Edith Skeens of Charleston; 19 grandchildren, 36 great-grandchildren and three great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Ola Landis, and one son, Willard Ray Landis. Services were 1:30 p.m. Sunday at Goshen Baptist Church with the Rev. Hubert Groves officiating. Burial in Goshen Cemetery, Kentuck. Visitation, 2-4 p.m. and 7-9 p.m. Saturday, Parsons Waybright Funeral Home, Ripley. Memorials preferred to Goshen Baptist Church, Kenna or Calvary United Methodist Church, Ripley.
