  <p>Information: Cecil Lakin ""Joe"" Landfried, 77, of Ripley died March 29, 1996, at Jackson General Hospital, after a long illness.  He was an Army veteran of World War II and a Purple Heart recipient.  He was a retired independent oil/gas leaseman and a lifelong Jackson County resident.  Surviving:  companion, Betty Miller of Ripley; daughters, Margaret ""Mickie"" Casto of Ripley, Carolyn Madden of Grayson, Ky.; stepmother, Mabel Carney of Ripley; brother, Edward ""Red"" of Ripley; sisters, Margaret Waugh and Dorothy Moore, both of Ripley; one grandchild.  Services were held on Monday at Vail Funeral Home, with burial in Fairplain Cemetery.</p>
