Information: DEATH TAKES AGED CITIZEN - John W. Lamp, 87-year-old retired farmer, died at his home near Ripley on Saturday as the result of a stroke.  He had been ill only about one week at the time of his death.  The funeral service was held from the Salt Hill church yesterday (Tuesday) afternoon with the Rev. D. C. Guthrie officiating and the burial was in the Lamp family cemetery.  The Vail undertakers were in charge.  Mr. Lamp was born November 16, 1863 in Pleasants county, a son of David and Hannah Moore Lamp.  He had lived at the farm near Ripley for many years and was a member of the Ripley Lodge of Odd Fellows.  Survivors include his widow, Emma Weekley Lamp; a niece, Mrs. George M. Kurtz of Parkersburg; and a nephew, Paul Jones of Ripley.
