Information: RIPLEY -  Richard O. Ladd, 46, of Ripley, died Oct. 20, 1998, of a gunshot wound to the chest.  He was supervisor of network operations for Bell Atlantic, Charleston, with 19 years' service.  He was a native of Clendenin and a 1970 graduate of Herbert Hoover High School, where he was an athlete, holding the pole vault record.  He was a graduate of Fairmont State College, where he was president of Tau Kappa Epsilon fraternity.  He received a master's degree from West Virginia University and a CPA from the University of Charleston.  He was a member of Clendenin United Methodist Church and Ripley Masonic Lodge.  Surviving:  wife, Robin Morrison Ladd; son Matthew Tennyson Ladd at home; daughter, Anna Joy Ladd at home; mother, Helen Ann Osborne Ladd of Clendenin; sisters, Cynthia A. Seagraves of Pawleys Island, S. C., Jeannie Kebler of Vass, N. C.  Service will be 11 a.m. today at Clendenin United Methodist Church with the Rev. Frank Allen and the Rev. Mike Evans officiating.  Burial will be in Koontz Cemetery, Clendenin, with graveside rites conducted by Ripley Masonic Lodge.  Matics Funeral Home, Clendenin, is in charge of arrangements.
