Information: John Thomas ""Tommy"" Lackey, 62, of Ripley, formerly of Cedar Grove, passed away Tuesday, September 30, 2014 at CAMC Memorial Hospital, Charleston.  He was a coal miner with Valley Camp Coal and was a retired electrician for Appalachian Electric Power.  He loved fishing, hunting and camping with his grandkids.  He was preceded in death by his mother, Emma Lou Lackey; sisters, Lida Ann Scott and Sherry Lynn Persinger.      He is survived by father, J. B. Lackey of Ansted; his wife, ""Cookie"" Lackey of Ripley; son, John Thomas Lackey II of Charleston; step-sons, Chris and Jermey Stephens, both of Ripley; daughters, Kimberly Dawn (Jerry)Toler, Jennifer Lee Garretson of Charleston; 11 grandchildren, Cody, Austin, Emma, Evan, Cecilee, Mason, Jaiden, McKenzie, Bishop, Selah, Haven; mother and father-in-law, Creed and Ann Pursley of Ripley.  Graveside service will be 2:00 p.m. Saturday, October 4, 2014, at Kanawha Valley Memorial Gardens Mausoleum Chapel, Glasgow, with his father-in-law, Rev. Creed Pursley, officiating.  Burial will follow the service at the cemetery.  Friends may call from 1:00 to 2:00 p.m. at the mausoleum chapel.  Condolences may be sent to the family via kimberly.toler73@gmail.com.  Cooke Funeral Home, Cedar Grove, is in charge of arrangements.
