  <p>Information: Died, May 11, 1881, of Cancer, at his home near this place, Michael Kounts, in the 78 year of his age.  Mr. Kounts died at noon, of the day above named, after several months of severe suffering, which he bore with remarkable fortitude, never uttering a complaint.  He was buried on Friday, (13th), at 10 a.m.  Funeral services were held at the Presbyterian church, conducted by the Pastor, Rev. Henry G. Blayney, assisted by Rev. L. E. Peters, of the Baptist church.  A very large number of the citiznes of this place and from the surrounding country, gathered together to pay the last tribute of respect to the memory of the departed, and to express their sympathy for his stricken family.  Mr. Kounts was one of our oldest and most respected citiznes, and he will be missed in this community.  He was for many years a consistent and exemplary member and Ruling Elder of the Presbyterian church, here and at Pt. Pleasant, before he removed to this place.  He will be greatly missed in the church.  His was a triumphant death, for the died in the faith of Jesus.  He sleeps in peace.  A more extended notice may be given in the future, when facts in his history, which we have not now, are at hand.</p>
