Information: Okey Otmer Koontz, 76, of Sandyville, passed away Sunday, August 9, 2015 at Cleveland Clinic following an extended illness.  Okey was born May 8, 1939 at Cottageville, WV, and was one of 13 children born to the late Warren Webster and Phoebe Blanche (Counts) Koontz.  Brothers John Wesley, Robert Dorn, Floyd Webster and Richard Lee Koontz and sisters, Loretta Full, Luann Koontz, and Rosalee Kerwood, also preceded him in death.  He was a retired splicer from Verizon and a member of the Communication Workers of America.  He was a member and former Sunday School Superintendent and teacher for Drift Run Church, Sandyville.  He enjoyed hunting, boating and woodworking.  Survivors include his wife of 55 years, Ruth Ann (Thompson) Koontz; son, Steven Wayne Koontz and his wife, Carolyn Sue, of Parkersburg; daughters, Debbie Ann Posey and her husband, Patrick, of Lubeck and Michele Rena Phillips, and her husband, Greg, of Sandyville.  He is also survived by brothers and sister-in-law, Ted and Marjie Koontz of Newark, Fred and Carol Koontz of Parkersburg; sisters and brother-in-laws, Eloise and Herbert Sayre of St.Albans, Janet Hale of Newark, and Betty Anderson of Harrisville; six grandchildren; Jeff and Mike Burdette, Zachary and Ashley Posey, Dalton and Tana Phillips; ten great grand children and one great great grand child.  Service will be 11 a.m., Thursday, August 13, 2015 at Casto Funeral Home Chapel, Ravenswood, WV, with Pastor David Long officiating.  Burial will follow in the Drift Run Cemetery, Sandyville, WV.  Visitation will be from 5 p.m. Until 8 p.m., Wednesday, at the funeral home.  In lieu of flowers, donations are preferred to: Drift Run Building Fund, c/o Casto Funeral Home, 802 Washington Street, Ravenswood, WV. 26164
