Information: FAYETTEVILLE--Dorothy Faye Koontz, 89, of Fayetteville, formerly of Ripley, died Monday, February 14, 2000, at Fayetteville Care Center following a long illness. She was born February 10, 1911, at Jackson County a daughter of the late Herbert and Lilly Hamon Skeen. She attended Salem College, a member of Delta Kappa Gamma Society and was the Chief Clerk of the Rationing Board during World War II. She was a retired secretary with the Jackson County Board of Education and a member of Calvary United Methodist Church. She is survived by a daughter, Barbara Baker of Fayetteville; grandchildren, Anne Lawhorn and Holly Mitchell of Fayetteville, Jacqueline Souder of Seneca, SC. and Brent Baker of Oak Hill. Also survived by seven great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by a brother Ralph Skeen; a sister Inez Morris and a grandson, Mark Joseph Lawhorn. Graveside service will be 2 p.m. Wednesday, (today), February 16, 2000, at Pine Hill Cemetery, Ripley, with Rev. Charles Hicks officiating.
