Death Notice:

Obituary Date: 1923-06-15

Information: O. B. Kiser, the eldest son of Joseph K. Kiser, was born November 10, 1850, and departed this life April 29, 1923, age 72 years, 5 months and 19 days.  He was born near Fletcher, Jackson County.  He received a common school education and entered at an early age the teaching profession which he followed for a period of 40 years.  He was twice the representative of Jackson County in the House of Delegates.  He was converted about 40 years ago at Maysville, Kentucky, and united with the Christian Baptist Church, but later became a member of the Missionary Baptist Church of which he was a member when the death angel called him to take up his abode on the farther elysian shore, from whence no traveler e'er returns.  He was a member of the A.F.A.M. Lodge, who in conjunction with Rev. John D. Hamon, held funeral services over their deceased friend and brother.  Uncle Eadom (as he was commonly called) leaves a host of friends as well as relatives to mourn his loss.  He is survived by his wife and six children, all of whom are living.  He leaves two sisters and one brother to mourn his departure.  His life was a guiding star and his counsel was of the highest type, such as only a devout, experienced christian man and father can give.     (from the collection of Betty Kessel McIntyre)
