Information: John Donovan ""Donnie"" Beaver, 29, veteran of World War II, was killed instantly early Tuesday morning when he was struck by a New York Central freight train on a bridge at Leon.  The engineer of the locomotive reported that he did not know that the train had struck the men until he stopped the train at Ambrosia to take on water.  It was then that he discovered apiece of clothing in the undercarriage of the engine.  The operator at Arbuckle was notified and he came to Leon where a search party was formed and the search began for the body.  Portions of the body were found at the end of the bridge after it had been carried from a ferry landing bridge where he was reported having been seen last.  The accident victim was a son of William Edison and Kathryn Sayre Beaver, and was born at Leon on August 8, 1917.  The young man served over three years with the United States Army, spending most of his this three years in Germany.  He was discharged about a year ago.  The young man was a catcher on the Leon baseball team and was widely known throughout this section of the state.  Survivors include the parents, three brothers, Ernest and Lee of Boomer and Joe Ervin, at home; his paternal grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. (Almena McCoy) Sherman Beaver of Leon; and the maternal grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. (Susan Sophia Barr) Ezekiel ""Zeke"" Sayre of Cottageville.
