Information: Jacob Kinzel, 85, of Ravenswood died Monday afternoon in Marietta Memorial Hospital, Marietta, Ohio. He was a son of the late Gustave and Emma Vaier Kinzel. He was a veteran of World War I and retired in 1960 from the B & O Railroad where he served 49 years. He had been a driver for Dudley's Florist in Ravenswood for a few years. He was active in veteran's affairs and had held a life membership in VFW Post 6669 in Ravenswood. He held various offices there, including past commander. He was also a member of American Legion Post 159 in Williamstown, Veterans of World War I, Barracks 3504 in Parkersburg, the 40 & 8 Club and the retired railroad workers club. He is survived by his wife, Elizabeth Oldham Kinzel; a son, Robert of Valley Station, Ky.; two daughters, Mrs. Dorothy Burge of Marietta and Barbara Nicholas of Williamstown; two sisters, Katherine and Lena Kinzel of Charleston; a brother, Phillip of Mount Alto; 13 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by an infant son, three brothers, and two grandchildren. In lieu of flowers, donations should be made to the Ravenswood Library. Funeral services will be held 11 a.m. Thursday at Straight-Tucker Funeral Home, Ravenswood with Rev. C. Donald Vogel officiating. Burial will be in Otterbein Cemetery, Evans.
