Information: Funeral services for Mrs. A.W. Beattie who died Tuesday, Oct 1, at her home at Creston, were held at the Creston U.B. Church Friday afternoon at 1:30 o'clock with the pastor, Rev. Roy Davis, in charge. The church wascrowded and many who came from far and near to attend the last rites of the well known woman were unable to get inside the church. Rev. William Casto, Methodist minister from Fairmont, and Rev. O.H. Carder, U.B. pastor at Pt. Pleasant assisted Rev. Davis. Osa Ola Ray Beattie was born at Kentuck on May 8, 1876, a daughter of J.M. and Margaret Ray. She was 64-4-23 of age at the time of her death. On April 14, 1901 she was united in marriage to A.W. Beattie. She was a member of the Smith Chapel M.E. church and the Creston Ladies Aid from the time of it's organization twelve years ago. Besides her husband, she is survived by the following children: Mrs. Grace Sayre, Mrs. Margaret Cherryholmes, and Mrs. Ruth Cherryholmes, of Columbus, Ohio, and Walton Beattie, of Leon. Three children, Mary Louise, Robert, and Marie preceded her in death. A step-daughter, Mrs. Laura Wolf, of Toledo, Ohio and a step-son, T.N. Beattie, of Charleston, survive, and the following brothers and sisters, Rubert Ray of Pt. Pleasant, Robert Ray of Lothair, Ky., Mrs. Zuba Freeman of Huntington, and Mrs. Mary Bails of Stanwood, Iowa.
